I have been done with classes for a few weeks now and have been mostly spending time traveling and writing my final papers. I have some really fun things on the horizon that I am so looking forward to including going to Scotland to visit my best friend Maddie for Easter and traveling to Portugal with my friend Anushya before I fly home. I’m gonna be back in DC for my big and my boyfriend’s graduations. It’s going to be so lovely to see them both again and get the opportunity to celebrate all their hard work and accomplishments. I feel so proud and lucky for the people that I have in my life because they are truly amazing.
I can’t believe that abroad is almost over. In some ways it has felt like its flown by, but in other ways I feel like I’ve been gone forever. At this point in the semester, I feel ready to come home because homesicknesses is hitting its peak. That’s why I was very lucky to have my family here this past week, visiting on their spring break to give me the motivation to push through my final month.
While they were here, we did a lot of London sightseeing. I showed them all my favorite places (mostly food and shopping areas) such as Mercato Metropolitano, Borough Market, Notting Hill, Sky Garden, Camden Market, Dishoom, Shoreditch, and so much more. I had missed being around them more than I realized and it felt so good to catch up with my siblings about their final months of senior year and college plans.
My favorite things I’ve been up to recently have been my solo day trip to Oxford and my trip today to Shoreditch for Record Store Day at Rough Trade Records with my friend Mia.
Below are some photos of my outings. If you are ever in Oxford, I would definitely recommend visiting the Oxford Botanic Gardens, Radcliffe Camera, The Eagle and Child, The Bear Inn, The Covered Market and Queen’s Lane Coffee House. There is also great vintage shopping and food in the market stalls right by the Gloucester Green bus station.
